Panchangam

Our office is situated at 5, M.R.C Nagar, right on Santhome High Road. It’s a nice enough location because you can sometimes catch a bit of the sea air when the wind is right. We focus on the Panchangam, which involves a lot of traditional calculations and looking at old almanacs. It’s a quiet kind of work. The room is filled with books and papers, some of them quite old and yellowed at the edges. We spend a lot of time checking dates and positions of stars, making sure everything is accurate. We aren't a big tech company; it’s more about pencils and paper and keeping track of the traditional calendar. The building is usually calm, which helps when you need to concentrate on the math. We have a small tea kettle in the corner, and that gets a lot of use throughout the day. People sometimes come in to ask questions about specific dates, and we do our best to find the answer in our records. It’s not a fast-paced environment by any means. We take our time to make sure we don't make mistakes. Outside, the traffic on Santhome High Road is always moving, but inside, things are much slower. We’ve been doing this for a long time, and the routine hasn't changed much over the years. We just show up, do the work, and go home when the sun sets.
