Pallava Granites Industries

Our yard is located at 10 Sri Ram Nagar, right on North Street here in Alwarpet. Pallava Granites Industries is basically a place where we handle a lot of heavy stone. It’s a dusty job most of the time. We have stacks of granite slabs sitting around waiting for someone to pick them up. Alwarpet is a decent area but moving these big stones through the narrow streets can be a bit of a headache. We spend our mornings checking the inventory and talking to drivers. It’s not a glamorous life. Sometimes the rain slows us down, especially when we’re trying to load the trucks outside. We’ve been here at this spot for quite some time. Most of us have been working with stone for years, so we know what we’re looking at. We don't do much advertising, mostly just people walking in because they saw the sign. The office is small and usually has some stone dust on the desk. You get used to it. We keep our tools in the back. Working with granite requires some patience since it's heavy and breaks if you aren't careful. We just try to keep things moving along day by day. It’s a simple business model. We get the stone, we store it, and then it goes to whoever bought it. That’s pretty much the whole story of what happens here on North Street.
