We are situated at No. 55/21 Madurai Veeran Street in Kalaivanar Nagar. Being near the Chennai Public School means we hear the school bell and the kids playing during their breaks. It is a bit of a tucked-away spot in Padi. The building isn't very large, so we have to be smart about how we stack the raw materials and the finished plastic pieces. There is always a faint smell of rubber in the air, but we have gotten used to it over the years. We have a few machines that run most of the day. They make a steady humming sound that fills the workspace. Sometimes a machine breaks down and we all have to stop what we are doing to fix it. It can be frustrating but that is part of the work. Our floor is always covered in small scraps of material that we have to sweep up at the end of the shift. We are just a small team of people trying to get the orders out on time. We don't have a receptionist or a big lobby. People usually just walk into the main area and find one of us. It is informal here. We wear work clothes that usually have some grease or dirt on them. It is honest work and we have been doing it for a long time at this address. We don't mind the noise or the mess much anymore because it is just part of our day.
