People often miss us because the sign on Valluvar Kottam High Road isn't that big, but we’ve been here at 313 for a good long while now. Nungambakkam is always loud with traffic, especially in the afternoons when everyone is rushing home. Inside the office, it is a bit quieter, though the air conditioner hums quite a bit. It’s just a regular workspace with desks pushed together and stacks of files that probably need filing. We spend our days answering the phone and talking to people who drop by. It’s not a fancy setup, just some chairs and a water cooler that leaks a little if you aren’t careful with the lever. Most of the staff has lived in the area for years, so we know the shortcuts to take when the main road gets blocked by a protest or a broken-down bus. We don’t have any grand speeches about what we do. We just come in, get the work done, and make sure everything is sorted before the sun goes down. Sometimes the internet goes out when it rains hard, and we just sit there and wait for it to come back, talking about what’s for dinner. It’s a small operation, really. Just people doing their jobs in a part of the city that never seems to stop moving. If you walk past the big shops, you’ll find us tucked away near the corner.
