Oliver Exports and Imports is located at No. 33 in Jegajeevanram Nagar. We are right on the New Agaram Main Road in Selaiyur. It’s a busy spot with lots of motorcycles and buses zooming by all day. Our office is mostly filled with samples of things we move around and a lot of shipping documents. Trading is a lot of waiting for one thing and then everything happening at once. We spend hours on the phone trying to track where a container is or why something hasn't arrived yet. It can be stressful, but we like the pace. The office isn't very large, so we have to be careful about where we stack the boxes so nobody trips. We don't have a receptionist or anything like that. If the bell rings, whoever is closest to the door goes to see who it is. Usually, it's a delivery or someone from the neighborhood. Selaiyur has grown a lot lately, and the main road reflects that with all the new shops. We just keep doing our thing in our corner. We have a small kettle for making tea and that’s about as fancy as it gets for our breaks. Most of us have been here long enough to know exactly where every file is kept. It’s not a corporate skyscraper, just a local business trying to keep things moving.
