Okay Exports

Okay Exports is located on the second floor of the Misri Complex. That’s at No. 24 Narayana Mudali Street. If you’ve ever walked down that particular street, you know how packed and narrow it gets. It’s a maze of shops and people constantly moving things around. Being on the second floor helps us get a little bit away from the noise of the street, but it’s still pretty loud most afternoons. Our office is a bit cramped because we have so many samples and documents lying around on every surface. We’ve been in this complex for a long time. The stairs are steep and we often have to carry everything up and down by hand. It’s a lot of physical work along with the office tasks. We deal with various exports, mostly getting goods ready for the international market. We don't have a receptionist or a fancy waiting room for guests. You just walk in and we’re all there working at our desks. There is usually a radio playing softly in the background. We spend hours looking over export regulations and making sure we have all the right stamps on the paperwork. It’s a bit of a headache sometimes, but it’s the business we chose to be in. The Misri Complex has a lot of other businesses too, so there’s always people coming and going. We know the other shop owners and we often share news about the local market. It is a very local way of doing things.
