Our shop is located at 2/555-A on Babu Jagjeevan Ram Street. If you’re in Gerugambakkam, you might have passed us. We deal with industrial parts, so the place is usually full of boxes and metal components. It’s not the cleanest office in the world; there’s usually a bit of dust from the parts, but it’s a working space. We started this because we knew there was a need for these specific bits and pieces in the local factories. Most of our day is spent checking inventory or talking to mechanics. We don’t use a lot of fancy software; we mostly rely on our notebooks and knowing where everything is on the shelves. It’s a small team here at NU Tech. We all wear a few different hats. One minute I’m answering the phone and the next I’m helping load a crate. Babu Jagjeevan Ram Street is a busy place and we fit right in with the other workshops around here. We don't have a big marketing budget or anything like that. People mostly find us by word of mouth or because they saw the sign. We just want to make sure the parts people buy actually fit and work like they’re supposed to. It’s a lot of checking numbers and sizes. We’re just regular people trying to do a good job. It gets hot in the afternoons, but we just keep the fans going and get through the list.
