Our office and workshop are located in the MKV Tower on Burkit Road. We actually take up the second and third floors at number 3. T. Nagar is a very crowded place to work, but it’s where all the action is for the garment business in Chennai. We’ve got the cutting tables and the sewing machines spread across the floors. It’s noisy and it gets hot, even with the fans going full blast. We make all sorts of garments here. We have a lot of staff who have been with us for a long time, so they know exactly what to do without being told. It’s not a fancy setup. The walls could probably use a new coat of paint and there are stacks of fabric everywhere. We don't really do the whole marketing thing. We just focus on getting the orders finished on time. The stairs can be a bit of a workout since we are moving between the two floors all day. Dealing with the traffic on Burkit Road is the hardest part of the day, honestly. We usually start early and finish when the work is done. It is a lot of hard work and long hours, but we are used to it. We just keep the machines running and try to keep everything organized. There is no point in pretending to be something we aren't.
