We are located over in Neelankarai, on the 1st Main Road in North Kapaleeswarar Nagar. It’s a bit quieter out here compared to the city center, which is nice when you’re dealing with technical items and instruments. Most of the time, the air smells a bit like the sea since we aren’t that far from the water. Our building is a simple place, number 4/4, and we’ve been operating out of here for quite some time now. Inside, there are shelves and tables covered with different tools and pieces of equipment. We spend our days checking things, packing boxes, and making sure the paperwork matches up. It isn’t glamorous work. It involves a lot of sitting at old desks and making sure the calibrations are where they need to be. Sometimes we lose track of time because it’s so quiet inside the office. We don’t really do big advertising or have a sales team. People usually find us because they need something specific that we happen to have in stock. The neighborhood is mostly residential, so we try not to make too much noise when we’re loading things into the van. It’s just a regular workplace with people who have been doing this for years. We know the instruments well, but we talk about them in plain English, not big science words. It’s just how we get by. There is usually a stray dog napping near the gate when we arrive in the morning.
