Narayana Pearls & Gems

We've been here at Narayana Pearls & Gems for a while now. If you know T. Nagar, you know how hectic Thyagaraya Road gets. We are right in Kasi Arcade, tucked in next to the GRT Hotel. It’s a busy spot but we like it here. People come in looking for specific stones or maybe a nice string of pearls for a wedding. Most days start with us cleaning the glass cases and checking the stock. It’s a small shop compared to the big ones around us. We handle a lot of loose gems too. Sometimes people bring in old jewelry to see if we can swap a stone or fix something. It’s mostly just us working here day in and day out. The traffic outside is always loud. You can hear the horns even from inside the arcade. We try to keep things simple. We don't have those fancy automatic doors or huge advertisements. Just a counter and some chairs for folks to sit while they look at stuff. We’ve seen the neighborhood change a lot over the years. New buildings go up and old ones get renovated. But we stay right here. It's a decent place to work. We know most of the regular shopkeepers nearby. We grab tea from the same stall every afternoon. That's pretty much how things go for us. We're not doing anything revolutionary, just selling gems and pearls to whoever needs them. It's a steady life and we are happy with it.
