Mate Shree Bag

We set up Mate Shree Bag on Narayana Mudali Street quite some time ago. If you know this part of the city, you know how busy it gets with the narrow lanes and all the foot traffic. Our shop is at number 78, and it’s usually packed with different types of bags leaning against the walls. We spend most of our mornings unpacking new stock that arrives in big bundles. It’s not a fancy place, just a regular shop where we handle everything from school bags to travel gear. Sometimes the street gets so loud with the rickshaws and people shouting that we can barely hear ourselves talk. We mostly deal with local folks and small traders who come through this way. The space inside is tight, especially when the new shipments come in, so we have to move things around all day just to make a path. It’s a lot of physical work, lifting heavy boxes and keeping the shelves sorted. There’s no air conditioning, so we just keep the fans going and drink plenty of tea from the stall next door. We’ve gotten used to the rhythm of this street over the years. It’s just how we do things here, day in and day out, making sure people get what they need without any fuss. We don’t have a big team, just a few of us making sure the doors stay open and the inventory is counted right.
