We are tucked away on 11th Street in Nanganallur. The exact address is 22/1, over in Bhakthavatchalam Nagar. It’s a residential-feeling area, so it’s a bit quieter than the main markets. The shop is filled with all sorts of tools. We have shelves going all the way to the ceiling. Sometimes it is hard to find a specific wrench or a drill bit without moving three other boxes first. People in the neighborhood know us as the place to get those specific things they can't find at the bigger hardware stores. The street is a bit narrow, so parking a big car can be a bit of a headache. Most folks just come by on their scooters. We spend most of the morning unpacking new stock or helping someone figure out which tool fits their job. It’s a lot of manual work and our hands are usually a bit dirty by lunch. We don’t have a big sign or anything flashy. Just the name on the front and the tools inside. The weather in Chennai can be quite humid, so the shop stays pretty warm. We keep the front door open to get a breeze through the place. It’s just us here, working through the list of what people need.
