Tamil Nadu Lime Corporation

Our place is located on Nandavanam Road. It is a fairly simple operation we run here. The yard has a lot of white dust from the lime, which seems to get on everything no matter how much we sweep. We have some large sheds where the bags are stored to keep them dry. The weather is a big factor for us; if it rains, we have to move fast to cover everything up. We spend a lot of time loading and unloading trucks that pull into the driveway. It’s physical work and you definitely end up messy by the end of the shift. The office is just a small room with a heavy desk and a couple of chairs that have seen better days. We keep our records in thick ledgers and some folders. There’s a ceiling fan that wobbles a bit but keeps the air moving. People come by to pick up supplies for their building projects or whitewashing needs. We don't have any fancy signs or showrooms. It’s just the product and the space to move it. The road outside can be quite dusty too, especially when the wind picks up. We’ve been at this location for a long time, so we know the local contractors and builders who stop by. We just focus on keeping the stock ready and making sure the orders are filled correctly. It’s a basic, honest way to spend the day.
