N S Exim (Chennai) Pvt Ltd is based over on School Road in Chetpet. If you’ve ever been down 46-A, you know it gets quite lively when the kids are heading to class or going home. We are right in the middle of all that. Our office is pretty straightforward. We do import and export work, which mostly means a lot of phone calls and checking on where containers are. Chennai is hot, so the fans are always spinning in here. We have a few desks and a lot of folders stacked up on the shelves. It’s a bit cramped, but we make it work. Most of us have been here long enough that we don't even notice the noise from the street anymore. Dealing with customs and shipping can be a real pain some days, but we just take it one step at a time. We don’t have any fancy decorations on the walls, just a calendar and maybe a map. People come in to drop off documents and we usually offer them some water because of the heat. It’s a small team here. We know each other's families and what everyone likes for lunch. We aren't trying to be the biggest company out there, we just want to get the day's work finished so we can beat the evening traffic. It is honest work and it keeps us on our toes.
