Our office is tucked away in Teynampet on Bangar Street. It can be a little confusing for people trying to find us the first time because of the house numbers. We are at New Number 18, which used to be Old Number 14. Chokalingam Nagar is a pretty established part of the city, and we’ve been working out of this spot for a while now. N Kannan Architects Pvt Ltd is really just a bunch of people who enjoy figuring out how buildings should go together. We have our desks set up and there are usually rolls of paper sitting around everywhere. Teynampet is a central enough place to be, though the streets around here can get quite narrow and crowded. You learn to time your arrivals and departures based on the local traffic patterns. Most of our day is spent looking at site plans or chatting about structural details. It isn't a glamorous setup, but it works for us. We drink a lot of coffee and try to keep things organized, even if the office looks a bit cluttered during a busy week. Being on Bangar Street means we are close to a lot of things, which is handy. We don't really go in for big advertisements or anything like that. People usually find us because they live nearby or heard about us from someone else in the area. It’s a simple way to run a business and we just keep it moving.
