Sukra Jewellery

Sukra Jewellery is located at No. 72 North Mada Street in Mylapore. We are right near the Saravana Bhavan Hotel, which makes it easy to find us if you’re looking. The street is always full of people, especially near the temple. It’s a lively place to work. We have been here for a long time, watching the crowds go by every single day. Inside, we have our counters and the old wooden stools we’ve used forever. We deal with silver and gold pieces, mostly traditional designs that people in the neighborhood like. It’s not a giant showroom with bright flashing lights. It’s more of a traditional shop where you can sit down and talk. Sometimes the smell of sambar from the hotel next door drifts in during lunchtime. We handle a lot of repairs too, not just selling new things. People bring in their old ornaments that need fixing. We take our time with the work because that's how it should be done. My uncle used to run things, and now we just keep it going the same way he did. It’s a bit cramped when it gets busy, but we don't mind. We know most of the regular customers by name. It’s just a part of the Mylapore life for us. We open up early and stay until the street calms down. There is always someone coming in for a small fix or a chat.
