Royal Chips & Snacks

The shop is at 45 P. V. Koil Street, right in the heart of Mylapore. If you know the area, you know how it gets during the festivals. Royal Chips & Snacks has been here for a bit. It’s a small space, mostly filled with big containers and bags. We spend the mornings getting everything ready for the day. The smell of oil is always there in the air. It’s a local street, lots of people walking to the temple or the market. We see the same faces every day. Sometimes we have a chat, sometimes they just grab what they need and go. We don't have a big team, just a couple of us making sure the shelves aren't empty. The floor can get a bit slippery if we aren't careful with the oil. We keep the doors open to let the air in. Sometimes a stray dog sits outside hoping for a scrap of food. We don't do anything fancy with the packaging. Just simple bags and ties. It’s a lot of manual work, lifting and moving things around. The counter is a bit old and scratched up from the years. Mylapore is a busy place, and 45 P. V. Koil Street is right in the thick of it. We just try to keep up with the demand and make sure we don't run out of the snacks people like. It’s a long day, but we are used to it by now.
