Murugan Productions

Murugan Productions is located at New No. 115 on Perambalu Chetty Street. We are in Old Washermenpet, which is a part of the city with a lot of character. The streets here are narrow and they are always full of life. You have cycles, carts, and people moving around at all hours. Our building is an older one, fitting for the neighborhood. It has high doorways and the walls are thick. Inside, it’s a different world from the noisy street outside. We have our setup for whatever production work is on the schedule for the day. It’s a bit of a maze inside with different rooms for different tasks. We’ve got some old wooden furniture and some newer equipment mixed together. The air is often heavy and humid, so the fans are always spinning at full speed. Old Washermenpet has a history that you can feel when you walk around. We’ve been on Perambalu Chetty Street for years and we’ve seen the shopfronts change, but the vibe stays the same. We don’t have a fancy lobby or a receptionist in a suit. Usually, someone just hears the door and comes to see who it is. We drink a lot of coffee here. It’s what keeps us going through the long afternoons. It’s a busy place but we like the energy of the area. It feels like we are part of the neighborhood’s fabric. We just keep doing what we know best in this little corner of the city.
