Murtaza Enterprises

Our shop, Murtaza Enterprises, is located at No. 243 on Thambu Chetty Street. Some of the older folks still call it by the old number, 119, so it can be a bit confusing for new delivery drivers. This street has a lot of history, and we’ve been part of it for a long time. The shop is narrow but deep, packed with all sorts of things we’ve collected over the years. We don't really have a system that a computer would understand, but we know where everything is. If you need something, we usually have to climb a ladder or move a few crates to get to it. It’s a bit dusty in the back where the sun doesn't reach, but that’s fine. We don't spend money on fancy displays or bright signs. We just keep the doors open and wait for our regulars to stop by. Thambu Chetty Street is a busy place, with a lot of shouting and horns honking, but we find it comfortable. We’ve seen many businesses come and go, but we just keep doing what we do. There’s a small desk near the front where we keep the ledger. We still write most things down by hand. It feels more real that way. It’s a simple way to run a business, but it works for us and our customers. Usually, we take a long break in the middle of the day when it's too hot to do much.
