You can find us at No. 47 Kattur Sadayappan Street in Periamet. Periamet is a place that’s always been known for the leather trade, and we’ve been part of that fabric for a long time. Our building is nothing special to look at from the outside, just another storefront in a line of many. Inside, though, it’s full of the smell of raw hides and the sound of people talking. We’ve kept things pretty much the same over the years. We have some old desks where we do the accounts and a lot of space in the back for storing the goods. The street outside is usually blocked with carts and small trucks, making it a bit of a scramble during the peak hours. We don’t have any polished corporate brochures or a fancy website. Most of what we do is based on long-standing relationships and just showing up every day to do the work. The fans overhead hum constantly to keep the air moving in the cramped space. Sometimes the lights flicker when the load is too high on the street, but we just keep going. It’s a lot of physical work, checking the quality of each piece and making sure everything is packed securely. We’ve been through good times and bad times here, but we just keep the doors open and do our job.
