We’ve been at the Elsons Building on Mount Road for quite a while now. Being right near the Hindu newspaper office means people usually find us without too much trouble, though traffic on this stretch can be a real headache sometimes. Inside, it's mostly the sound of machines and people moving boxes around. We deal with all sorts of garments. It’s a busy place, especially when large orders come in and we're trying to keep everything organized. The building itself has seen a lot of years. Some days the lift acts up, so we just take the stairs. Most of the guys here have been with us for years, so we all know how things work. We don't really do much fancy stuff. It's just about getting the clothes finished and out the door on time. You’ll see us here early in the morning before the sun gets too hot. It gets pretty humid inside during the summer, but we keep the fans going. Sometimes we grab tea from the stall around the corner during breaks. It's just a normal workplace where everyone tries to do their bit. We've seen Mount Road change a lot over the years, but our spot stays pretty much the same. It’s a lot of manual work, checking stitches and folding things properly. There’s always a bit of dust from the fabric, but that’s just how it is in this business.
