At Unitex Exports, our daily life happens over at No. 1416 Thiruvalluvar Nagar in Mogappair. If you come by, you’ll see it’s a busy corner of the neighborhood. We spend most of our time dealing with boxes and shipping labels. The office part is pretty small, just a couple of desks pushed together and a lot of filing cabinets that have seen better days. We handle the paperwork for sending goods out, and there’s always a stack of documents waiting for a signature or a stamp. Mogappair gets pretty hot in the afternoons, so we keep the fans going at full speed while we pack things up. It isn’t glamorous work. It’s mostly about making sure the counts are right and the trucks get loaded before the sun goes down. Sometimes things get a bit disorganized when a big shipment arrives, and we have to move stuff around just to find a place to stand. We know the local drivers well, and they know where to park so they don’t block the whole road. We just keep our heads down and get the work done. There’s a certain rhythm to the packing and the loading. We don’t spend much time on fancy talk. We just focus on the boxes and the schedules and making sure the day's tasks are finished before we head home to our families in the evening.
