Mercury Granites P. Ltd.

Our place is on Linghi Chetty Street, right at New No. 282. It is a busy road and there is always noise from the traffic outside. We spend most of our time dealing with heavy slabs of stone. Granite is heavy and dusty work, so the floors here are rarely ever perfectly clean. We have different types of stone leaning against the walls and in the back area. Customers come in looking for something specific for their kitchens or floors, and we spend a lot of time just moving pieces around so they can see the patterns in the light. Sometimes the delivery trucks have a hard time parking on this street because it is so narrow and crowded, so we have to coordinate everything carefully. We are a small team and most of us have been working with stone for a long time. Our hands are usually a bit rough from the work. We don't really do much advertising. People usually find us because they were walking by or someone told them we have what they need. We keep a pot of water in the corner for anyone who comes in. The office part is just a small desk with some old chairs for when we need to write out the bills. It gets very hot in the afternoons here, but we just keep the doors open to catch whatever breeze comes off the street. It is just honest work with heavy materials.
