Mearsk Global Service Centre, Chennai Gsc

In Chennai, the heat and humidity are just part of the job. Mearsk Global Service Centre is located in Nehru Colony, at Q.U. No.4-23 on 2nd Street. We are on the second floor. It’s a service center, so there are a lot of people on computers and headsets. Chennai Gsc is a busy place because we are linked to things happening all over the world, but our office is right here in a local neighborhood. Nehru Colony has a nice feel to it, and it is a bit different from the huge IT parks you see elsewhere. We have desks, chairs, and a pantry that is always out of milk. The work involves a lot of coordination and making sure the shipping documents are correct. It can be tedious, but it is important. We have a mix of people working here, some who have been here for years and some new faces. We don't have any polished slogans or marketing brochures lying around. We just focus on the screens and the tasks for the day. Sometimes we have a little celebration when we finish a big project, but mostly it is just steady work. Outside, the street is usually busy with people going about their business. We are just one part of that, a local team handling global tasks from a quiet street in Chennai, trying to keep things moving.
