Araham Aluminum

Araham Aluminum has a couple of spots here on Linghi Chetty Street in Mannady. One is at New No. 13 and the other is further down at New No. 157. We are right across from the Dharmarajan Kovil, which is a big temple everyone knows. The street is usually full of trucks and people carrying metal. We work with aluminum, so our shops are always full of frames, sheets, and scraps. It’s a noisy business with the cutting and moving of metal parts. We’ve been in Mannady for a long time. The buildings are old and have a lot of character, even if they are a bit cramped. We don’t have much room for a lobby, so customers usually just stand near the entrance while we talk. It’s a busy environment. We spend our time measuring things and making sure the orders are right. The heat from the workshops can be a lot in the summer, but we’ve got fans going. It’s a bit messy with metal shavings here and there, but that’s just how it goes when you’re working. We know the rhythms of the street and the temple festivals. It’s a good place to work if you don't mind a bit of grit and the smell of industrial work. We have been part of this neighborhood for years and we know the other metal workers nearby quite well. It’s a busy, noisy life, and we are right in the middle of it.
