We operate out of Sriji Apartments on Manapakkam Road. It might seem a bit odd to have a business like Raja Insulation Refractories Private Limited in an apartment area, but it works for us at No. 55. We deal with materials that handle a lot of heat, like bricks and linings for furnaces. It is heavy work and the samples we keep around are pretty dusty. The office is usually full of charts and technical papers scattered across the desks. We spend a lot of time on the phone talking to sites where the actual installation happens. It's not a place where you’ll find plush carpets or expensive art on the walls. It’s more about the practical side of things. We have been in this spot for some time now and the locals know us. Sometimes the delivery trucks have a hard time navigating the road near the apartments, but we get things moved in and out eventually. There is a lot of talking about temperatures and material durability throughout the day. We drink a lot of tea while going over the requirements for the next job. It’s a steady kind of life here in Manapakkam. We just focus on the specific materials people need for their industrial setups. It’s a lot of calculating and checking specs until the sun goes down and we close the shutters to go home to our families.
