Mamta Leather Exports

Our office is tucked away in the Anaikar Complex on M.V. Badran Street. If you’ve ever been to Periamet, you know it’s the heart of the leather trade in this city. Mamta Leather Exports operates out of room 10/8B. It’s not a huge space, but we pack a lot of work into it. We spend most of our time dealing with export orders and checking the finished goods before they go into containers. It’s a lot of paperwork and even more physical checking. The complex is always humming with people carrying bundles of leather on their shoulders or pushing carts through the narrow bits. Sometimes the electricity goes out for a bit and we just wait it out or work by the windows. We aren't really into fancy talk here. We just make sure the leather is what it should be and that it gets to the port on time. My desk is right near the door so I see everyone coming and going. The air smells like tanned hides and tea from the stall downstairs. It's a practical way to make a living. We have been here long enough that the neighbors all know us. We don't have a big sign or anything, just the work we do every day. It gets hot in the afternoons but the fan helps a little.
