Our office for Mahapet India is on the second floor of No. 17 on Anna Main Road. It’s right in the middle of M. G. R. Nagar, which is a pretty lively part of the city. To get up to us, you have to take the stairs because there isn't an elevator in this building. The rooms are a bit small, and we’ve filled them up with desks and computer monitors. We mostly deal with the day-to-day operations of the company from here. It gets quite warm in the afternoons, so the air conditioners are usually running full blast. We have a small kitchen area where we make coffee and eat our lunch. The view from the window is just the busy road below and the tops of other buildings. There’s always the sound of horns and engines coming through the glass. We’ve got a small team here, and we all know each other’s business. It’s not a corporate skyscraper, just a regular office space that we’ve made our own. Sometimes the plumbing gives us trouble, or the power flickers, but we just deal with it and keep working. We handle a lot of paperwork and digital files every day. It’s a busy life, and we try to keep things organized as best as we can without making too much of a fuss. Most days we are just focused on getting through the list of tasks before heading home.
