Maersk Logistics

Our office is over at No 1 on 6th Cross Street in Trustpuram. It is a bit quieter here than the main roads of Chennai, which is nice when you have a lot of thinking to do. We work on logistics, which basically means we spend our time looking at screens and talking to people at the docks. There is always a stack of paperwork on someone’s desk and the sound of someone typing away. We have a small kitchen area where we make tea and talk about anything other than work for a few minutes. The neighborhood is a mix of houses and offices, so it feels a bit more like a community than a cold business district. We have been operating out of this spot for a while now and we have a good routine down. We deal with a lot of international stuff, so sometimes we have to stay late to talk to people in different time zones. It is not always easy work, but it keeps us busy. We don't really have a fancy mission statement or anything like that. We just come in, do our jobs, and try to make sure we don't make any mistakes with the cargo numbers. It is a steady environment and we all get along pretty well. Trustpuram is a good place for us to be located because it is easy enough for people to find.
