Mother Designer

I’ve been running Mother Designer for quite some time now, and honestly, the second floor of Vgp Amudha Nagar is where I spend most of my daylight hours. Being right near the engineering college in Maduravoyal means there is always some noise or students walking past, which keeps things from getting too quiet. We focus on getting the designs right, even if it takes a bit longer than expected. Sometimes the light in the workshop isn't perfect, but we make it work with what we have. It’s not a huge setup, just a practical space where we can get our hands on the fabric and see what happens. Most of the people who come by are locals or folks who heard about us from a neighbor. We don’t really do much fancy stuff here. It is just about cutting, sewing, and making sure the patterns look like they are supposed to. Some days the humidity in Maduravoyal makes the work a bit sluggish, but that is just how it goes in this part of town. I usually open up early before the traffic on the main road gets too loud. You’ll find me surrounded by scraps of paper and thread most afternoons. It is a simple way to make a living, and being tucked away in this building suits the way I like to work. Nothing too fast, just steady progress on whatever project is sitting on the table today. It keeps the mind busy and the hands moving.
