Als Pipe Traders

We have two main spots, one on Alapakkam Main Road in Maduravoyal and the other over at Ganapathy Garden in Madhavaram. It keeps us pretty busy running between the two. We mostly sell pipes and fittings. It’s the kind of place where you walk in and see stacks of PVC and metal everywhere. It’s not pretty to look at, but it’s what people need. Plumbers and contractors come in early, usually before the sun gets too high, to grab what they need for the day’s work. My desk is usually covered in receipts and scraps of paper where I’ve scribbled down measurements. We try to keep everything in stock, but sometimes a specific size runs out and we have to wait for the next delivery. Chennai traffic is no joke, especially around Gnt Road, so we spend a lot of time planning how to move stuff around. We aren't a big chain store. We know our customers by name usually. If someone comes in with a broken piece, we try to find a match that works. It’s practical work. We don't spend money on fancy displays or shiny floors. The floor is concrete and the shelves are heavy duty. We’ve been at No. 82 A for a good while now. It’s a simple trade. You need a pipe, we have it. That’s the whole idea. We just open up the doors and sell pipes to whoever needs them for their plumbing.
