Madras Furnishing Company

Madras Furnishing Company has its shop at No 146 in Mehta Nagar. We are located right on Nelson Manickam Road in the Aminjikarai area. This road is one of the busiest in the whole city, and the traffic noise is something we have just learned to live with over the years. We handle all kinds of furnishing work here, like curtains, sofa covers, and cushions. The shop is filled with rolls of fabric and samples of different materials. It is a bit of a tight squeeze inside because there is so much cloth everywhere. We spend our time measuring lengths of fabric and talking to people about what colors might look good in their living rooms. The building is an older one, and the entrance is just a few steps up from the sidewalk. Sometimes the dust from the road blows in, so we have to keep cleaning the display items. We have an old sewing machine in the back that we use for small adjustments. The staff is just a few people who have been doing this for years. We don't have any big marketing plans or fancy logos. People just know us because we have been on this corner for such a long time. It is a very local spot where neighbors come to get their old chairs fixed or to buy new drapes for their windows.
