You can find us over at No.6, which used to be No.5A, on the street in Ganesh Nagar. Aambakkam is where we do all our work at Madras Air Filters Pvt. Ltd. The shop floor is usually where you’ll find most of the action. It smells a bit like metal and dust, which makes sense given what we do. We’ve got machines that have seen better days but they still work just fine. The office part is small and tucked away in the corner. Sometimes the neighbors’ dogs bark quite a bit, but we’ve gotten used to it over the years. We aren't a corporate giant with a glass lobby. It’s more of a place where you might get some grease on your shirt if you aren’t careful. We spend our time making sure the filters are put together right. There’s a specific way things need to be fitted, and we’ve been doing it long enough that it’s almost second nature now. Ganesh Nagar is a quiet enough area, except when deliveries are arriving. The street can be narrow, so parking a big truck is always a bit of a puzzle. We like it here in Aambakkam, though. It feels like a real neighborhood where people actually know each other. We just keep our heads down and focus on the filters. If you walk past, you’ll probably hear the hum of the fans or someone hammering something.
