Maansarovar

Maansarovar is tucked away on Lakshmi Street in Chennai. If you know the 600 083 area, you know it can get pretty busy around here, especially when the weather is humid. We’ve been at No 18 for a good stretch of time. It’s a simple setup. We don’t have a big glass front or anything like that. It’s just us doing our daily tasks and seeing who walks through the door. Most of the people we deal with are from around the neighborhood or have heard about us from someone else on the street. Chennai life is fast, but inside our place, we try to keep it a bit more relaxed. We have our desks and our files and a fan that’s always running to keep the air moving. Sometimes the tea man comes by and that’s the highlight of the afternoon. We don’t spend much time worrying about how the office looks to outsiders. As long as we can find what we need and the work gets finished, we are happy. Being in Tamil Nadu, we see all kinds of weather, from the heavy rains to the burning sun, but the work at Maansarovar stays pretty much the same. It’s just a regular local business where we know our neighbors and we do what we’re supposed to do without making a big fuss about it. We’re just here on Lakshmi Street every day and that is enough for us.
