We are based in the Mahanti Apartments, specifically Unit G1, on Sheela Nagar 3rd Street in Madipakkam. It’s a residential-style building, so it feels more like a home-grown business than a big corporate office. Being in Madipakkam means we are in a busy part of South Chennai. We handle a lot of different trade activities from this small ground-floor space. It can get a bit cramped when we have a lot of files, but we manage just fine. The street outside is usually quiet enough, except when people are coming home from work in the evening. We’ve been here at No. 10/19 for a while now. Most of our work involves sitting at the computers and making sure all the customs documents are right for the items we are moving. We don't really have a big staff, so everyone does a bit of everything. Sometimes we have to run out to meet clients or visit the bank, but usually, we are right here in the apartment office. It’s a very practical setup for us. The neighbors in the building are used to us by now. We don't put on any fancy airs; we just do our trading work and try to be helpful when people call with questions. It’s a simple business life here at Lalaimpex. We just keep the records straight and keep the trade moving along nicely as best as we can without making things complicated.
