Chennai can get really hot, especially around G.K.M. Colony where our office is. We are located at 57, 30th Street, right on MGR Street. It’s a tight corner of the city, but we have made it our home for La Freightlift Pvt Ltd. Every day is pretty much the same routine of coordinating freight and talking to drivers. The street outside can get noisy with all the scooters and people going about their business, but inside we just focus on the computer screens. We’ve got a small team here. We know the local tea stall owner by name and usually get our morning coffee from there. Moving goods across the country takes a lot of coordination, and most of it happens right here in this room. We don’t use a lot of big words or have a shiny lobby. It’s a practical space with maps on the wall and a few fans humming to keep the heat away. Sometimes things get hectic when a shipment is delayed, but we just pick up the phone and sort it out. Our address is easy to find if you know the landmarks around 30th Street. We’ve been here long enough that the postman doesn't even need to look at the number anymore. We just keep our heads down and handle the logistics side of things for whoever needs it.
