You can find Kumar Agro Tech over at Plot No 54 in the Vysarpadi Co-operative Industrial Estate. We’ve been here in Chennai for a while now. It’s a busy area with a lot of other businesses and workshops around, but we stick to our agro-tech work. Being in an industrial estate means we have the space to handle the machinery and equipment we work with. It's not a quiet job at all. There’s always the sound of work going on in the background. We provide technical support and tools for farming, even though we are technically in the city. A lot of our clients come from the outskirts or travel in from far away to see what we have in stock. We keep things very straightforward here. If a machine needs fixing or if someone needs a specific tool for their land, we do our best to help them out. The team here is just local workers who know their way around a wrench and a motor. We don't have a corporate office with carpets and coffee machines; it's concrete floors and practical desks. Chennai-600039 is our corner of the world. We’ve seen the area change a lot over the years, but our focus on helping farmers with technology hasn't shifted much. It’s a grit-and-grind kind of business, and we wouldn't have it any other way. We just keep working and helping whoever comes through the door.
