Translink Logistics Pvt. Ltd. is situated in Sea View Towers, Phase III, on the 2nd Floor at 14/8 Krishna Koil Street, Chennai. Being so close to the port, you can always smell the salt in the air and feel the humidity. Our office is a constant hive of activity. There are phones ringing all the time and people talking to truck drivers or ship agents. We don't have much in the way of decor, just some calendars and a few maps of shipping routes pinned to the walls. The desks are crowded together, and there are stacks of paperwork everywhere you look. Logistics is all about timing, so the atmosphere is usually a bit hurried. We don't use corporate jargon here; we just need to know where the containers are and when they'll arrive. The building has a lift, but it’s often busy, so we usually just take the stairs to the second floor. We have a small water cooler that gets a lot of use in the Chennai heat. In the afternoons, someone usually brings in some snacks from the street vendors outside. It’s a hardworking place where we deal with the real-world problems of moving freight. We don’t have a fancy reception area or a mission statement on the wall. We just show up, handle the shipments, and try to stay on top of the schedule. It’s a busy, noisy, and practical place to spend the workday. The view is mostly buildings.
