Tool Crafts Chennai

At Tool Crafts Chennai, we focus on making different kinds of tools and hardware. Our shop is located at 2/11St Street in Thillai Nagar, which is over in Korattur. It’s a small operation. Most of the space is taken up by workbenches and the various grinders we use to finish our products. There's always a thin layer of dust and metal shavings on everything. We don't have a showroom or a salesperson. If you want to see what we do, you just have to come into the shop and look at the benches. It’s just me and a couple of friends who know how to work with metal. We’ve been in Korattur for quite a while now. The street can be a bit quiet, which is nice when we’re trying to focus on precision work. We don't have any big mission statements or polished brochures. We just make tools that work like they are supposed to. Sometimes we have to redo a piece because it’s a few millimeters off, which is just part of the job. The summer heat in Chennai makes the workshop feel like an oven sometimes, so we start early in the morning to beat the worst of it. We keep our books in a simple ledger and handle most things ourselves. It’s just a regular local shop where we work hard every day.
