Dream Safes

Our place is a little hard to find if you don’t know the landmarks. We’re at No. 52 on 2nd Street in the TNHB Colony in Korattur. The best way to get here is to look for the Canara Bank or go behind the Amma Unavakom. It’s a quiet enough street most of the time. We work with safes—the heavy kind people use to keep their things tucked away. The shop is filled with different sizes of steel boxes. Moving them around is a bit of a workout, so we’re all pretty used to the heavy lifting. We aren't a big chain store. It’s just a local business where we sell and sometimes fix locks on these safes. We started doing this because people wanted something solid for their homes or small shops. We don't have a fancy website or a marketing team. People usually just wander in after seeing the sign or hearing about us from a neighbor. The office part is just a desk in the corner of the room. It’s a bit cramped with all the inventory, but we like it that way. It feels like a real workshop. We take our time with anyone who comes in, showing them how the dials work or how to set a code. It’s straightforward work. We aren't trying to change the world, just trying to sell something sturdy for the folks in Korattur. The coffee is usually on and the door is open for anyone who needs a heavy-duty box.
