Kone Elevator India Private Limited is situated at 50 Vanagaram Road in Ayanambakkam. It’s a bit further out from the main city center of Chennai, which gives us a little more room than we’d have in the middle of town. We work on elevators here, dealing with the big stuff that keeps buildings moving. The facility is quite large and we have a lot of different departments all under one roof. It can be a bit of a walk from one end to the other. We don't have any flashy signs or anything meant to impress. It’s just a place where work happens. A lot of our time is spent on the logistical side of things, getting parts to where they need to go and making sure the technicians have what they need for their jobs. Vanagaram Road can get pretty busy with trucks, especially in the mornings. We have a lot of people working here, but it still feels like a local operation in some ways. We just keep things moving and handle the daily tasks as they come up. There is always a lot of activity, whether it’s in the office or out in the yard. We aren't interested in being corporate and polished. We just want to get the elevators sorted and make sure everything is running the way it’s supposed to. It takes a lot of coordination to keep it all going.
