Sms Trader

Sms Trader is located at No. 12 on Kattur Road in Minjur. We are very close to the railway station, so we hear the trains going by all day long. It’s a bit of a noisy spot, but it makes it easy for people to find us. The shop is a small place with a metal shutter that we pull up every morning. Inside, it’s pretty basic. We have shelves lined with various goods and a small counter where we handle the money and talk to customers. We don’t have air conditioning, so we keep the door open and use a ceiling fan that wobbles a little bit when it’s on high. It’s a local business through and through. Most of our customers live nearby and stop in while they are out running other errands. We know a lot of people by their first names and often spend a few minutes catching up on neighborhood news. It’s not a high-pressure environment. We just sell what we have and try to be helpful when someone asks a question. Sometimes we run out of stock on certain things, and we just have to tell people to come back next week. We don’t have a marketing team or anything like that. We just rely on the fact that we’ve been here for a while and people know where to find us. It’s a steady way to live. We close the shutter at eight and head home.
