People know us here at Arunodhaya Complex. It’s a busy spot on Poonamallee High Road and we have been at this for a while, tucked away in Periamet. The traffic outside is always loud, especially in the mornings when everyone is rushing. You find the New No. 57/11, which used to be 26/11, and that’s where the actual work happens. We make special machines. It’s not fancy work, just heavy metal and parts. Sometimes the delivery trucks block the entrance for hours and we have to wait. The tea stall nearby is where we usually take our breaks when the noise gets to be too much. Most of the guys here have been with us for years. They know the machines inside out. We spend most of our time looking at blueprints or fixing a lathe that decided to quit. It gets really hot in the afternoons, but we keep the fans going as much as we can. It’s just how things are run in this part of town. We don't spend money on big signs or anything like that. The old address still confuses some delivery drivers, so we often have to step outside to flag them down. It’s a lot of grease and loud clanging, but the machines eventually get built and shipped out. We keep the floor as clean as you can expect for a busy machine shop. There isn't much more to it than showing up and doing the job.
