K.A.S. Zainulabdin & Co.

K.A.S. Zainulabdin & Co. has been operating out of No. 88 on Angappan Street for quite some time now. Mannady is one of those places where the streets are always narrow and full of life, no matter what time of day it is. Our shop is right in the thick of it. It’s a bit cramped inside because we’ve got shelves piled high with everything we need, and sometimes it’s hard to find a place to sit down and have a cup of tea. We aren't interested in making the place look like a fancy boutique because that’s just not how we do things here. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we are usually too busy to get around to it. Most of our neighbors know us by name, and we see the same faces walking past our door every morning. It’s a loud area with all the horns and people talking, but you get used to it after a few weeks. We open up early and stay until the sun goes down, just like everyone else on this street. There’s no big secret to how we run things; we just show up and do the work that needs doing. Some days are slower than others, which gives us time to reorganize the stock or just chat with whoever stops by. It’s a simple life at number 88.
