If you head down to Besant Nagar in Chennai, you’ll find us at 75.Asthalaksmi Apts on 4.Coastal Rd. Kanya Constructions (P) Ltd has been in this apartment for a while. It’s nice being near the coast, though the salt air does a number on the metal window frames. We are at number 90 in the pin code area. The office is basically just a modified apartment space. It feels more like a home than a workplace sometimes. We have the usual stuff—computers, some filing cabinets, and a big table for checking out drawings. The fans are always on because the Chennai heat doesn't quit. You can hear the birds and the distant sound of the ocean if it’s a quiet morning. We aren't a big corporate outfit with a lobby. You just walk in and see us working. There’s usually a pot of coffee going somewhere. Most of our days are spent coordinating things and making sure everything is on track for Kanya Constructions (P) Ltd. It’s a comfortable spot to be. We like the neighborhood because it’s a bit more relaxed than the city center. Sometimes the parking on Coastal Rd is a nightmare, but we make it work. It’s just a group of us here, doing our jobs and keeping things simple. We don't need a fancy glass building to do what we do. The apartment works just fine for us and our visitors.
