Kamil Leathers

Karpura Street in Periamet is always crowded, and our place at 28/23 is right in the thick of it. At Kamil Leathers, you’ll usually find us surrounded by stacks of material. The smell of the leather is the first thing you notice when you walk through the door. It’s a strong, heavy scent that stays on your clothes long after you leave for the day. We’ve got scrap pieces of hide all over the floor sometimes because we’re busy cutting things out. The building is an old one, with high ceilings and walls that could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but it works for what we do. We don’t spend much time worrying about how the office looks. Most of our day is spent handling the stock and talking to the people who come in from the market. Periamet is a loud place with all the horns and people shouting, but once you’re inside, it’s a bit more focused. We’ve got a couple of old fans that rattle a bit, but they keep the air moving. My desk is usually covered in measuring tapes and pens. Sometimes we have to move piles of stuff just to find a place to sit down and eat lunch. It’s a messy business, but we like the pace of it. There is always something to move or organize before the day ends, so we usually end up staying quite late.
