K B M Leathers

We have been at this spot on Ramakrishna Street in T. Nagar for quite some time now. K B M Leathers is mostly just a few of us working through the daily orders and making sure things get done. It is a busy neighborhood, so there is always a lot of noise outside our door, but we just keep our heads down and focus on the leather. Some days are slower than others. We handle various types of leather goods and the workbench is usually a mess by midday with scraps and tools lying everywhere. It isn't a fancy office or anything like that. Just a regular workplace where we try to get the stitching right. Most people who come by are locals or regular folks who know where to find us in 40/7. It gets hot in the afternoons, so we usually take a break then. We’ve learned over the years that rushing things usually leads to mistakes, so we take our time with the material. Leather can be tricky to work with if you do not pay attention. The smell of the hides is something you just get used to after the first week. We do not spend much time on the computer or doing fancy paperwork, mostly we are just hands-on with the leather. It’s a decent living and we like being part of the T. Nagar community. Nothing too complicated about how we run things here. We just show up and do the work.
