Jobseeker

Our office is right on Ranganathan Street in Karapakkam, over in Chennai. It’s number 8. If you know this part of the city, you know it can get pretty crowded during rush hour. We’ve been here at Jobseeker for a while. We aren't some big high-rise firm with a view. It’s just a simple space where we handle the day-to-day operations. Chennai is always humid, so we usually have the windows shut and the AC running if it's working right. We spend a lot of time looking at screens and sorting through files. It’s nothing too exciting, but it keeps us occupied. The street outside always has something going on, which is nice for when we take a short break for some fresh air. We don't have a receptionist or a fancy waiting area with glossy magazines. Usually, if you walk in, you’ll just see us working at our desks with piles of paper around us. We use plain notebooks and pens that we buy from the shop down the road. It’s a very local way of doing things. We don't have a big marketing budget or anyone to write fancy slogans for us. We just focus on the tasks at hand and try to stay on top of the pile of work. Most of us have lived in Chennai our whole lives, so we’re used to the heat. It’s a practical setup for what we need to do. Every day is pretty much the same, and we’re fine with that.
