Jasdanwala Trade Agencies is tucked away on Ayyappa Chetty Street. You might know the spot, it’s right where we face Post Office Street. People sometimes get mixed up because the address has that old number 48 and the new number 88, plus the post box 43. It’s a bit of a mouthful when you’re giving directions over the phone. We’ve been here in this part of town for quite a while now. The building isn't anything special to look at, but it works for us. Inside, there are usually stacks of ledgers and the sound of the ceiling fan clicking on its highest setting. We spend most of our days talking to suppliers and sorting out the trade side of things. It’s busy, especially when the mail arrives at the post office across from us and the street gets crowded with scooters. We don’t really do anything flashy. It’s just us, the inventory, and a lot of tea from the shop at the corner. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but there’s never really a quiet moment to get it done. We know most of the regulars who walk by every morning. It’s a community feel, even with all the noise of the city right outside the door. We just focus on the daily tasks and making sure the crates get where they need to go. That’s pretty much how it goes for us every day here on the street.
