We are located at 12/89 West Mada Street in Thiruvotriyur. This street can get really crowded, especially during temple festivals. Our shop is just one of many along this stretch. We handle a bit of everything here. The building is old and has that specific smell of aged wood and paper. We have stacks of ledgers because we still like to write things down. It’s not a modern glass-fronted place. We have shutters that we pull down every night. The fan overhead squeaks a bit, but we’re used to it. We see a lot of the same faces every day. People stop in to chat even if they aren't buying anything. Thiruvotriyur has a lot of history, and you can feel it on this street. We try to keep the place organized, but with so much stuff coming in and out, it’s a bit of a struggle. The light isn't great in the back, so we use a desk lamp. It’s just the way we work. No big corporate meetings or anything like that. Just us handling the daily business and making sure the counts are right. It’s a simple life on West Mada Street. We just keep doing what we know. Sometimes we stay late to finish up the billing if it was a particularly busy morning with many customers coming in at once. There’s an old wooden bench outside where people sit and wait for their family.
